NDS纵版射击游戏《Raid Over The River DS(河上反击)》公布美工图片和一些相关信息
Nibris has been a bit quiet of late, but the reason for this became clear last night when we received word that there had been server trouble, but all was now back on track. With this message was some new information about the storyline of their DS game, vertical shooter Raid Over The River. Raid Over The River DS will be the first of at least two games, the second of which will appear on Wii. Previously a storyline has been detailed in The Indie Scene – we can now apparently say for sure that this was for the Wii version.
It all begins with the discovery of an artifact in Peru which allows time travel; however, according to the theory of Deutsch-Everett, it is impossible to travel through one’s own timeline. We can, however, go to past or future of Earth in a different dimension, and observe how the history of mankind developed there – due to this discovery, TARPA (Temporal Advanced Research Projects Agency) comes to exist, with its aim being to investigate different dimensions and eliminate any threat coming from them.
Taking control of Carrie Collins, a pilot in an air strike quick response team within TARPA, players journey through different dimensions after a portal opens on Earth and people from another dimension come through. Whilst playing, choices will need to be made that will influence the direction of the character and how the future turns out. The story takes place over 3000 years worth of time and 6 dimensions.
Marek Okoñ, designer at Nibris, says it’s intended as “a title which is going to change the current image of a vertical shooter as a meaningless, arcade game which only tests the speed of players’ fingers. It is a title which is going to present how big potential, [which is not realised so far] this kind of game has. It is also a game which, through relation to the classics, innovative original solutions, and extensive storyline, is going to [be] an experience [that is] one of a kind.”
Raid Over The River DS is to be released in the first half of 2007, and more information has been slated to be sent out tomorrow, but until then we have the first screenshots of the game, as well as a couple of new pieces of artwork. These screenshots are different to the previous one found by 4colorrebellion , with an entirely different bottom screen. Click below to see the new screens and artwork.
